Welcome to the sandbox!

 

The sandbox is a safe isolated environment that will replicate an interpreting job, giving you the needed experience to train and grow without the impact of a high stakes situation. Essentially you will enter a virtual studio to interpret an event; however, you will be Interpreting while backstage.

 

Each sandbox job will allow you an opportunity to practice:

 

  • Working from ASL to English or English to ASL

  • Working in a team

  • Working in a COVID safe environment

  • Working in a virtual environment

  • Working through the real pressures of a given interpreted event

  • And earn practicum/mentoring hours if needed

All sandbox environments will have a certified interpreter (mentor) to oversee participants. If you are interested in learning more and participating please click here and register.
