Accessible Integrated Media (AIM) offers a program designed to help interpreters achieve NIC/CASLI Certification or pass the EIPA Assessment (both Written and Performance). The program includes the following key features and perks for interpreter participants:
Perks and Conditions
Test Opportunities:
Every 6 months, interpreters can take one of the following tests:
CASLI/NIC Certification Written
CASLI/NIC Certification Performance
EIPA Written
EIPA Performance
AIM restricts both the Written and Performance tests from being taken at the same time unless the interpreters fulfill double the required hours within 6 months.
Reimbursement Policy:
Once the required hours are satisfied within the 6 months, interpreters can request AIM to reimburse them for their test payment.
Interpreters must take the test at AIM's location in Largo, MD.
Interpreters do not have to pass the test, but they must attempt it.
Scheduling Tests:
Once the interpreter reaches the required hours, they must schedule their first test within two weeks of meeting their goal.
Educational Non-Certified Interpreters: 38 hours
Community Certified Interpreters: 50 hours
