EMPOWERING INTERPRETERS, BUILDING COMMUNITY
Provide interpreting support on scheduled assignments (team-based with a certified interpreter).
Complete 2–3 days/week of behind-the-scenes office support tasks supporting AIM operations.
Support ASL community endeavors such as ASL clubs (as scheduled).
Participate in shadowing, observation, and structured learning activities.
Complete program deliverables and respond to documented feedback using AIM tools (e.g., Tally forms)
Structured mentorship with weekly learning discussions.
EIPA readiness support with weekly study discussions.
Team-based assignments with certified interpreters and documented feedback.
Paid interpreting assignments when cleared for independent work (within team structure).
Mock practice assessments and professional skill-building activities.
Professional administrative office exposure (accommodations support).
Opportunity to earn professional assessment reimbursement (NIC/EIPA/BEI) upon successful completion, per program requirements.
Once per month, interns participate in a moderated Sandbox session focused on voicing practice with a Certified Interpreter. Interns support moderation as part of their admin responsibilities.
